VERSATILE BOOK THE WRITE TIME RELEASES SATURDAY AT
THE WRITE TIME TEENS 'N TWENTIES CONFERENCE IN BLOOMINGTON, IN

BLOOMINGTON, IN (Sept. 12) – It took ten years of writing workshops to compose, and involved more than a dozen genres. Thousands of students participated along the way. Now, The Write Time: 366 Exercises to Fulfill Your Writing Life is set to launch nationally for professional and student writers, and all who love writing.

Perhaps the most comprehensive and versatile writing exercise book ever composed, The Write Time will release in conjunction with The Write Time Teens 'N Twenties Conference, which takes place Saturday, Sept. 19 at Bloomington New Technology School. The Write Time author Robert Yehling will present the keynote speech as well as a workshop on writing from personal life experiences.

The Write Time will be available to booksellers, academic institutions, writers conferences and online booksellers nationwide on September 21.

The conference takes place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registration is still available at the low price of $40 by going to www.tntconference.com or calling 866-326-7768 or 812-837-9226. While the conference is aimed at younger writers, it is open to writing enthusiasts of all ages.

Yehling will be joined by more than a dozen esteemed workshop presenters, including bestselling authors Dana Carpender and Bob Hammel; literary agent and Capitol City Young Writers president Verna Dreisbach; media/marketing specialist Selena Osterman, a former project development manager at 20th Century Fox who worked on popular TV shows Futurama, Stargate and Family Guy; Bloom Magazine publisher Malcolm Abrams; Women Writing for (a) Change founder Beth Lodge-Rigal; Bosse High School (Evansville, IN) creative writing teacher and novelist Missy Feller; and Nashville-based songwriter Randy Handley.

"It's going to be a great day to share our love for writing, and the power of the written word, with younger writers who hold in their minds and hearts the ideas that will help to shape our future society and the dreams imaginations of others," Yehling said. "Since I'm also a high school cross-country and track coach who loves working with kids, to be able to launch The Write Time in conjunction with a conference for younger authors is a real honor."

Written by Yehling and compiled by Melissa Jenkins, The Write Time has a number of specific features that make it one of the most dynamic writing instructional books available:

• 366 distinct exercises – one per day – often presented with a mini-story and associated with the particular season. The exercises cover more than a dozen different writing genres, and contain specific tips within the actual exercise prompts;

• More than 120 recommended writing-related websites, with one website URL listed for every three writing exercises, to create reader interactivity;

• Exercises for novelists, non-fiction writers, poets, essayists, songwriters, playwrights, memoirists, journalers, bloggers and broadcast episode writers;

• Corresponding sun signs from the Western, Native American and Celtic traditions.

• Inspiring and insightful comments and quotes from esteemed authors, philosophers, poets and scholars;

• The most complete list of authors' birthdays available in any writing book;

• An alphabetical index of the 366 exercises.

"While teaching for the past ten years, I developed most of these exercises individually, to suit the workshops," Yehling said. "Many of my students will look at this book and see exercises they undertook and effectively piloted. I put more than 250 exercises through such a trial-and-error process, then wrote the others the last two years to complete the book."

Yehling originally intended The Write Time for professional and aspiring professional writers, with whom he works as a full-service content developer, book editor, proposal writer and consultant when not teaching. However, Pen & Publish president Paul Burt convinced him to also present the book as an educational tool.

"I hadn't even though of the academic angle," Yehling said. "But it makes sense. If you do these exercises, you'll be able to write about anything. That's how I was trained, and it serves every author well to be able to write in multiple genres and diverse voices. Paul really showed me why this book will work so well in middle schools, high schools and colleges nationwide.

"But having said that, I feel strongly that it's something for everyone who is published, or wants to be published. After all, about 100 of my former students are now published authors – and every one of them did at least two or three of these exercises at one point."

Yehling is the author of eight other titles, including the 2007 Independent Publishers Book Award-winning Writes of Life: Using Personal Experiences in Everything You Write; and the award-winning website Poetry Through the Ages . Since 1996, he has owned Word Journeys, Inc., a writing services company. He is also launching AuthorStart.com, for authors seeking to write and prepare their books for publication.

A promotional tour in conjunction with The Write Time will be announced soon. Yehling will next appear at Meet the Authors in Marion, KY on October 5, followed by the Midwest Writers Guild Book Fair in Evansville, IN on October 17.
