LOTUS BLOSSOMS: Himalayan Haiku
Front teeth of the sky
glisten above sun-scaped clouds;
Bird passes in shadow.

Snow cone mountain glows
within the belly of moonrise,
white buffalo's prance.

Swift summit river
carries droplets of ocean
back to the circle.

Over tumbled ridges
flies a hawk, his vision
scaped in wind song.

Little child sits on
braided terrace, eyes aglow.
The ridge spills upward.

Within silent chant
of cloud's mountain movement,
sun impregnates ground.

Tree cast shadows run
along blue sky hillsides;
grasses begin to dance.

Haloes of clouds
surround purple fir peaks.
Whirlwinds twirl clovers.

Wrinkled valley rises:
Echoes of morning songbirds
chirping the river.

Temple cloud mists part
to reveal shafts of valley.
A hawk clears its throat.

New orange star winks at
crescent moon pulling ice packs.
A rock cave breathes steam.

Waterfall cascade
drowns sound of circling falcons;
shadows fly the mist.

Current drawn bubbles
break on cleaved sun boulders.
Jewels in the river.
